This program is great, the links to the help needs improvement.

It is like in school a teacher saying your answer is wrong, and pointing to an encyclopedia to find the right answer.

Can we find out what page, or even book?

It seems that the lack of information could be purposefully designed to make people call for tech support.

    Gateway Time-out

The gateway did not receive a timely response from the upstream server or application.

First of all, great component! I have been using it for the last couple years. Definitely among the top Joomla Components. I always get the latest updates so that in case you guys start charging for it I won't be too far behind ;) (please don't start charging).

I only have one complaint, which I have always had with it. When you get error messages, searching the website to find the solution has always been tedious. The errors are presented as links, but when you click on them it does not take you to the solution. You still have to search the website.

So please, make it so that when you click on the error message it takes you to the exact solution for that problem.

    Thank you

@Nicholas, when you click on "Default output directory in use" in the Joomla backend, this is the page you're brought to. I think you should remove that feature from the next version to avoid confusion.

I appreciate the support, but being brought to this page without any explanation is what is leading to people using the comment section.

I'm also getting the "Akeeba Backup detected the following potential problems:

    * Default output directory in use "

issue, and this is where I've been redirected.

    Any suggestions? Thanks.

I'm using the newest version (alpha 2, update 1) on a fresh install.

    Hi

I am quite new to Joomla and very new to this backup utility. My site is live and I tried a backup but got the following error message:

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /.../administrator/components/com_akeeba/views/backup/view.html.php on line 47

It also says: Akeeba Backup may not work as expected. Akeeba Backup detected the following potential problems: Default output directory in use.

I have no idea what all of this means. I clicked on the above link and arrived here and hope this is the appropriate forum to post my query.

Please can anyone help me in this regard.

Great. I never-ever-ever comment on anything. The component has been used with great success on my website although I haven't gone live yet.
