Mentioned on "Using Joomla!"

The cover of the "Using Joomla!' book The cover of the "Using Joomla!' book O'Reilly

This is almost old news by now, therefore you may have caught wind of the new “Using Joomla!” book by Ken Crowder and Ron Severdia. If not, you do not know what you're missing out!. It's the kind of book I wish I could get my hands on when I first started working with Mambo, Joomla!'s predecessor, seven years ago. It's an incredibly thought out mix of a reference guide and a tutorial book, coaching you from installation, to site configuration, to enhancements, to SEF, to security... If you develop sites using Joomla! and you need just one book on your bookshelf - this has to be “Using Joomla!”.

Among the other incredibly useful information you'll find in the book, the authors make a concise reference to JoomlaPack (Akeeba Backup's predecessor). In just a few pages they manage to cover everything, including installation, configuration, automation and even using the Remote Control application. Wow! Ken and Ron know how to write the best quality documentation I could ever get my hands on.

If you are interested in the book, we have made a special arrangement for a 30% discount off the normal price of the book, but only for our Professional subscribers. If you are a subscriber to our Professional services, log in to our site and come back to this article; the new paragraph appearing only to you will explain how to get the discount.
