Video tutorials!

After popular request, as of October 18th, 2009, we are launching our new Video Tutorials section in our documentation pages. Now, if an image is worth 1000 words, how many words is a 5-minute 24 fps video worth? Quite a lot I guess! Seriously, this new section has a dual purpose:

  1. Assemble interesting JoomlaPack video tutorials from third-party authors so that you don't have to look around
  2. Let us produce and publish a series "official" JoomlaPack Video Tutorials

On the latter goal, the first official JoomlaPack Video Tutorial is up and deals with JoomlaPack installation. It covers the three major installation alternatives and is a must-watch for people new to Joomla!. I am planning on releasing more video tutorials, covering at least backup, restoration (with and without Kickstart), basic use of filters and, ultimately, some of the advanced and lesser known JoomlaPack features (anyone using DirectFTP already?).

Moreover, Niko Winckel - our Translation Team Leader - has produced his own video tutorial of JoomlaPack in the German language. It is one of the most fast-paced and concise tutorials I have ever seen, covering installation, backing up and restoring your site using Kickstart. Even if you don't speak German, please watch it. It will give you a very good idea of what backing up and restoring with JoomlaPack is supposed to look like.

As always, we will be very happy to have your feedback. Just post your thoughts, suggestions, requests, you-name-it on our Support Forum.
