Akeeba Backup 3.0.a2.1 (Alpha 2, Update 1) released

We are pleased to announce the immediate availability of Akeeba Backup Core 3.0.a2.1 and Akeeba Backup Professional 3.0.a2.1. This version addresses a number of issues discovered after the release of 3.0.a2 three days ago. You can download Akeeba Backup Core for free in our download section. If you are not an English speaker, you may want to take a look at the translations as well. If you get stuck, you're welcome to post to our  Free Support Forum (a free user registration is, of course, required to post to the forum).

If you are a subscriber to the Professional edition, you can download the update through the My Downloads section after logging in. If you are not a subscriber yet, you may want to find out more about it and become one. This way you'll also be helping us raise the necessary funds to continue the development of this software.

This is the short list of changes since Akeeba Backup 3.0.a2:

Bug fixes

  • CRITICAL Database dump could contain duplicate records and be extremely bloated in size
  • Scripting wouldn't load under certain circumstances, causing immediate backup failure
  • Unimportant Notice thrown on Backup Now page
  • Unimportant Notice thrown on Files and Directories Filter page
  • Minor fixes in the configuration class
Additions
  • NEW! Amazon S3 support. Subscribers to the Professional release can now automatically upload their backup archives to Amazon S3 cloud storage service upon backup completion.
