Akeeba Backup Core is our free of charge edition. You can download it without registering on our site. It contains the necessary features for a complete backup, restoration and site move solution for your Joomla!-powered websites. While it includes all the essential features, it is missing some of the most advanced ones which are appealing to power users and web professionals. We recommend the Core edition for first-time users, ordinary webmasters and those who want to evaluate the software on their server.
Akeeba Backup Professional is the subscription-only edition. You need to purchase a suitable subscription to download it. It has all the extra features which come in handy for truly automated and secure backups, non-standard site setups and advanced uses. We recommend it for power users and web professionals.
