Description of my issue:

I installed admintools pro 2.4.2 and then I installed 2.5.8 and now nothing can be installed.
I'm also missing the admin tools in menu but I can access via url.
I don't see htaccess maker, I do have litespeed and I saw there were previous issues with litespeed but my older versions worked.

Please help, thank you!

First, let's try to disable Admin Tools. Please follow the instructions at https://www.akeebabackup.com/documentation/troubleshooter/atwafissues.html. I don't think that is going to fix your Joomla! installer. If it does, install Admin Tools twice without uninstalling the component at all. If you uninstall, you will lose all your settings.

I think you are going to have to manually uninstall Admin Tools and re-install it. I can't find my instructions on how to do that. If we do it properly, your settings will be preserved. I'm going to flag this for Nicholas, he will be back online in a few hours.

Please log in as a Super Administrator (Super User). By default, Admin Tools prevents plain Administrators from installing software. It's documented and you can turn it off from the Configure WAF page.

Try installing the component again, without uninstalling it. Unless your Joomla! extensions table is severely broken this will make the menu item reappear. If the installation doesn't complete then the menu item will of course be still missing and the component itself will most likely be half-installed, with missing files and unforeseeable issues.

.htaccess Maker will not appear to users of LiteSpeed in Admin Tools 2.5.7 and 2.5.8. This will change in Admin Tools 2.5.9.

Thank you both for the help and advice.
I was able to get it working late last night.
The issue was that sh404sef was breaking the site.
Uninstalled sh404sef
installed admin tools
Everything worked except for htaccess maker which you explained.

How can I roll back to 2.5.6 so I can have htaccess maker for now?
I don't care too much about settings in admin tools I can redo.
Thank you,
Jason

You can't roll back!

That isn't true, but it is the short version. There was a Framework on Framework upgrade in that range of versions. All of your Akeeba extensions have to be written for the same FOF version. If you roll back your Admin Tools, you would have to uninstall all of your Akeeba extensions and lose the settings, and possibly your saved backups, then reinstall the old versions again.

The change to .htaccess Maker was perfectly logical. We get bug reports that .htaccess Maker is broken from users who are using a server that doesn't recognize .htaccess files. The solution is not to show .htaccess Maker to non-Apache servers. Since the update hit, Nicholas has been driven absolutely nuts by servers who use .htaccess files just fine, but don't report themselves as Apache. The change has been reversed in the as yet unreleased version 2.5.9. You can download the Developer's release to get the fix. I would strongly recommend going up a version rather than going back.
