When I try to configure the firewall I get the following error on the front pages of the site (every page): JLIB_APPLICATION_ERROR_COMPONENT_NOT_LOADING

I have read the explanation that it has nothing to do with admontools, but when I disable the main.php file the error no longer appears.

I need the function of the ip blocking and other functions of admontoold, but can't use it with this error.

As I had replied to the other user:

One way to show a more intelligible error message is setting the "Show errors using a customisable HTML template" parameter in Admin Tools' Web Application Firewall to Yes.

Did you try that?

yes. I still get the same error message. disabling admin tools shuts it off.

Right now I am not sure if Joomla! somehow didn't create the #__extensions database table entry for Admin Tools or if it's another badly written plugin, module or template which throws this error when Admin Tools is running (we clean up the input data; a badly written extension may rely on unsafe input data or otherwise have a programming error exposed under these conditions).

The best way to probably find out what's going is to go to your Global Configuration and set Debug Site to Yes, Error Reporting to Maximum, then enable Admin Tools and try accessing the front-end. You should get a debug trace below the error message. If you post it here I can see where this error is coming from.

If you do not see a debug trace you will have to try uninstalling and reinstalling the component. Please note that you will lose your settings by doing that.
