Hi. I have two subdomains where the admintools pro self-update function is not working: staff.myhpl.org and new.myhpl.org. I have tried using my main download id and an addon download id that i created, to no avail. Please see attached screenshots. I am also having the same problem with akeeba backup pro.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling. The installs go without a hitch, and the products appear to be functioning

You should be able to press the Refresh update information button on your second screen shot to refresh the available update information.

I tried that - does not work.

I thought that was a little too easy. :-)

Please check with your host to make sure that your site can make an outgoing connection to the update server on port 443 (https).

It is not a problem with the host. The update notification / update tool in the root domain website using joomla 2.5.16 works fine. This seems to be an issue with the two subdomain sites (on the same host) using joomla 3.1.6.

Ah! The most recent versions of Akeeba Backup and Admin Tools are not compatible with Joomla! 3.1.6, they require Joomla! 3.2.0. I'm not sure the Live Update code is smart enough to know that but it saved you a mess. Let's see what it says after you update to 3.2.

That's strange. I have Admintools 2.5.10 and Akeeba 3.9.1 installed on a joomla 3.1.6 site and both components appear to be functioning well except for the live update feature. Both were installed manually over the top of earlier versions using the extension manager in an attempt to troubleshoot this issue by updating to the latest versions. I think admin tools was at 2.5.8 prior to the manual update. What mess are you referring to?

dlb
Normally you get a white page error on the Joomla! Extension Manager until you disable the System Restore Point plugin and both components should be throwing errors. The FOF layer that has to be installed as part of the extensions on 3.1.x is built in to 3.2.0 so there are some major "under the hood" changes for 3.2.0. That combination just isn't supposed to work.
