 I have a live site running with the www. We restore the site to a new location test.website.com.
Apparently the forwarding from non-www to www is set on the main site so when we restore it redirects the test.website.com to www.test.website.com.
The question is - where in the settings can i turn that off in a file directly. Is there a setting in a file I can change? I'd rather not have to change the setting in the live site - make a backup - just so the restoration works properly. With the redirect on I obviously can't login to the back end.
I just spent quite a bit of time reading the possible issues based on the help ticket subject that it suggests.

You can directly edit the .htaccess file in the root of your test site. If you put a hash mark (#) at the beginning of the line, the line becomes an inactive comment. That preserves the line in case you want to move the site back.
