 Trying to update to 3.6.0 getting this error JInstaller: :Install: Cannot find XML setup file

Also getting this with Akeeba

What do I need to do to overcome this

This is a recent install of Joomla

You need to update your Download ID. All of the IDs changed with the site update on December 25. You can read more about why and how to fix the issue in this article: https://www.akeebabackup.com/home/news/1537-new-site-and-changes-in-dlid.html.

I have read the article - but have not noticed need to change my password to login to the Akeeba site.

Also have updated today another site with no issue using the existing download ID this is also being given in my account area as well :(

Should I go into my account and change my password so generating another download ID ?

The Download IDs already changed with the upgrade of the site to 3.2.1. The upgrade changed the hash in the user table, even if the password did not change. The Download ID is based on the hash.

Only the main Download ID changed, if you have Add-on Download IDs that you have created, those are not affected by this situation. If your second site uses an Add-on ID, that would account for why it works as expected.
