 Hi There,

Is there a way that I can include Admin Tools Secret URL Parameter to a link to a component in the backend?

We're using this component that has Edit link in the frontend but the edit points to the item in the backend. Problem with that is it doesn't work with Admin Tools.

I have tried:

http://www.domain.com/administrator/index.php?admintoolsecret?options=....

but it doesn't work. Can this be done?

Thanks!

You have a front end extension that is getting a 403 error because it calls a program in the back end? If that is the case, you don't need the secret parameter, all you need to do is set up an exception for the front end program to get it through the firewall.

If you are being prompted for a back end password and user ID, that is a different matter. That would be coming from the .htaccess file and there is no way around it except to have the author fix the program.

Public facing programs should never call code from within the /administrator folder.
