 Hello friends form Akeeba,

My sites are on Ovh : Perf2 , it is a sharing hosting.

When i go to Firewall / white list, Admintools (or IP looksup?) recognize my IP as : 127.0.0.1
either if .htaccess is desabled.

Of course my own IP is other.

After reading that ticket : #15355, i have phoned to Ovh support.
They don't use proxy.

So, i am affraid that every people trying to sign in my back office will be seen as 127.0.0.1

The only reason this would happen is

1. Your host is using a proxy, load balancer, CDN or a reverse proxy in front of the site. Since the IP is 127.0.0.1 it's either a proxy or a reverse proxy.

2. Your server is misconfigured. Admin Tools reads the IP address from PHP. PHP reads the IP address from the information sent to it by the web server.

So, it is a hosting issue. If your host does not understand how to solve it please use a different host.

Why, you might ask. I'll put it bluntly. I'm setting up my own servers for development and, even though I'm NOT a systems administrator by a long shot, I never screwed up a server so bad. These people are being paid by you because they're supposed to be systems administrators which are supposed to know how to set up a server better than a developer like me. Well, they'd better start acting like it or you can move your site somewhere where the systems administrators actually know how to do their job. It all comes down to this.

As you seem to speak french on average level, I answer in French!!

Vous ne semblez pas très content!!! je suis désolé mais ce n'est pas toujours facile de lire votre anglais dans les wiki, qui sont très bien faits et très complets, mais parfois je ne comprends pas les nuances de vos explications!

Ceci dit (otherwise :-) !)
J'ai abandonné mon hébérgement mutualisé et acheté un serveur dédié à la même entreprise : Ovh.
Maintenant, tout marche bien!
Soyez convaincu que je suis ravi d'utiliser Admintools, il me rend de très grand service.

PS : cela ne doit pas être facile de gérer tous ces tickets!

Je n'ai pas exprime d'inconfort. Il est difficile de comprendre les différences dans le ton utilisé lorsque vous n'êtes pas familier avec la langue Anglais. J'ai dit simplement que je pense sont faits :) Il est tout aussi difficile pour moi de comprendre si vous avez simplement fait un enquête pour quelque chose ou vous avez demande quelque chose pour la même raison.

Je suis heureux que vous avez compris que ce que j'ai essaye de vous dire, que votre hébergement était problématique. Je suis également heureux que c'était possible de passer à une société d'hébergement différent et résoudre vos problèmes. Nous sommes toujours ici pour vous aider!

I did not express discomfort. It is difficult to understand the differences in the tone used when you are not familiar with the language. I was simply stating what I considered to be facts :) It's equally difficult for me to understand if you are merely asking or demanding something for the same reason.

I am glad that you understood that what I was trying to say was that your hosting was problematic. I am also glad that you were able to move to a different hosting company and solve your problems. We're always here to help you!
