I have just been doing some site testing and run into a slight issue.

I use Joocial to post blog articles to Facebook. When a user clicks on the link back to my blog post (from Facebook) they see the correct article however the URL is not the normal SEF URL for example:

https://www.bettondesign.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=94%3Aseo-tips-2015-seo-best-practices-for-2015&catid=11%3Ablog&Itemid=116&fb_ref=Default

Should be:

https://www.bettondesign.co.uk/blog/94-seo-tips-2015-seo-best-practices-for-2015

This is obviously nothing to do with Admin Tools and to be honest it's not really an issue as the canonical link is correct.

My problem is with article rating. When a user is accessing the article via the first URL and they try to rate the article (using Joomla's vote plugin) they get a 403 error with the message that I have added into the WAF configuration under "Security Exception Message Customisation".

My question is, what WAF settings do I have to change so that users can still vote regardless of the URL?

Thank you for your time.

First go to Admin Tools, Web Application Firewall, Configure WAF. Make sure "Log security exceptions" is set to Yes; if it's not, set it to Yes and click on Save. Now try reproducing your issue. Immediately after that, please go to Admin Tools, Web Application Firewall, Security Exceptions Log. The latest log entry at the top should have the date and time of when the issue occurred. Please copy the Reason and Target URL here so that we can further help you.
