OK, so don't yell at me because I know using the secret URL and administrator login directory is false protection. I use it because it does alert me when someone is trying to get into my site that should not be and that way I can actively monitor things and this is all I rely on it for.

I read post #22361 and your reply. I fail to see how this is a hosts problem and I fail to see why you think it is out of your hands? The problem is if you have something in the administrator login directory field before you update to 3.5.0 you are locked out of the admin. The solution is to ensure this field is empty before updating and the problem I see is there is no warning that if this is set you will have to shut down Admin Tools to get in and even then you have no direct way to delete the content of the field without re-installing 3.4.4, removing the name and then re-installing 3.5.0. I looked in the database but failed to find where the information for the administrator login directory or the secret URL is at? It has NOTHING to do with my host and everything to do with the fact that the field is not editable even though there is something in there and because it still acts on the admin login and fails regardless if I enter the correct information. The solution is to either provide a warning for those updating the extension or as you stated it will be fixed in the next patch. That of course does not help now...

What I don't see Nicholas saying in #22361 is that the field is cleared by the update. So you should be able to get in using www.mysite.com/administrator/index.php. If you use your old url, it won't let you in.

There was a warning that the feature was being discontinued in the Release Notes for 3.5.0. We do put important information in those notes but it seems there is no better place to hide it. :-(
