This is for an old site that will be changed this winter.

I got a lot of php warning like:

PHP Warning: geoip_continent_code_by_name() [<a href='function.geoip-continent-code-by-name'>function.geoip-continent-code-by-name</a>]: Required database not available at /usr/share/GeoIP/GeoIP.dat. in /mysite.com/public_html/plugins/system/admintools/pro.php on line 1254, referer: http://www.pulsionvoyages.com/administrator/index.php?option=com_content&sectionid=anumber&task=edit&cid[]=anumber.

Just want to know if I can stop them ?

What is your Error Reporting setting in Joomla!'s Global Config screens? It should be "none" for a live site to prevent those warnings from being displayed.

It was at default, I put it at none.

In Joomla 1.5 “Default” seem to be:
System Default : Joomla will inherit error reporting defaults set in the server (usually in php.ini file).

Not to sure what that mean ?
On My System info, in the PFP information “Error Reporting” = a number 22519

I guess it mean that my Error reporting was NOT None.

Are Joomla 3.5 up the same with that “Default”

"Default" I think just uses the PHP setting. Sometimes you need to see the PHP error if you're trying to diagnose something. It is convenient to be able to just flip the Config setting rather than override the PHP settings. But under normal circumstances you don't want those errors and warnings showing up on your site.
