I recently found where I was no longer able to access /kickstart.php in order to initiate a site restore operation as before. I troubleshot the problem was due to the customized and hardened .htaccess file created by Admin Tools. I am using Akeeba Backup pro for Joomla. I would like to know what modification to make to the custom .htaccess maker rules inside of Admin Tools in order to allow Akeeba Backup kickstart.php to function properly.

You can add kickstart.php to the Allow direct access to these PHP files field in .htaccess Maker, then regenerate your .htaccess file.
