 Hi,
I realy have lot of pb with Admintools using.
1/ I had desinstall admintools (because I can't do a good configuration with Hikashop witch give me an "Paypal Invalid response"). After this desinstallation I have always the .htaccess.admintools file and a .htaccss file on my ftp.

2/Can I delete the .htaccess.admintools file? Is there any risq? Why is it still here after deleting Admintolls?
It seems that this file look like the classical Joomla .htaccess file?

3/To have all the details of my Admintools pbs : in last septembre (without change anything in the config) I had appear pb of Hikashop Paypal Invald response. I didn't find any best other solution than to desactivate Admintools and evrythings comes ok again.
Next week It was asking me to update Akeeba and Admintools (?). I made the update despite of Admintools desactivated. And it seems tha from this moment I have again the "Hikashop Invalid response".
Do you have any possibility to help me?

Thanks

dlb
  1. Uninstalling Admin Tools would not restore your .htaccess file to the previous contents. You need to do that manually.
  2. The htaccess.admintools file is just a backup of the .htaccess file from before you ran .htaccess Maker. It is very likely the Joomla! default .htaccess file. You can rename this file to undo your .htaccess Maker changes or look for the htaccess.txt file in the root of your site.
  3. Since you are still having problems with your checkout when Admin Tools is uninstalled, the problem may be in the .htaccess file. Let's restore that to the default Joomla! file and see if that makes the problem go away. If it does, we know where it is and need to do more investigation to fine out exactly what is causing the problem.

For future reference, you can easily disable Admin Tools by disabling the System - Admin Tools plugin. That is faster and easier than uninstalling Admin Tools. If you can not access the back end of your site, you can follow the instructions here: https://www.akeebabackup.com/documentation/troubleshooter/atwafissues.html to disable Admin Tools via FTP.

The htaccess.admintools file is a backup file. It should not be deleted during an uninstall because you may need it to reverse any changes that you made with .htaccess Maker. If you do not need the backup, you can delete the file, it is not a file that your website is using at this time.
