I've read the posts about htaccess exceptions, but the problem I'm having only occurs on mobile, which doesn't have a developer toolkit to find the problem. Here it is:

We have a bunch of slideshows around our site, and all work just fine on desktop and laptop computers. But on smartphones, the slideshows just show the little spinning icon that just keeps on spinning, and the pictures never appear. Here is one example.

In investigating, I discovered that the slideshows work fine on mobile in articles that are attached to a menu item, but not articles that are linked to from blog pages, but don't have a menu item of their own. They work fine either way on desktop, in any template, but on mobile, only on articles that have their own menu item.

Further investigation showed that when I go to the article using the direct index.php link rather than the sef url, the slideshow shows up just fine on mobile.

  • Using latest Joomla, v3.6.4. -- we didn't notice this problem before the latest upgrade, but it could be that we just didn't notice, or that something in the newest Joomla broke something.
Using standard built-in Joomla SEF, set in the Global Config.
Using the standard, Akeeba Admin Tools-created htaccess without changes.
Using the Simple Mobile Detection plugin to direct mobiles to a mobile template.
Using Slideshow CK. Have communicated with the developer, and he says the problem must be in the htaccess, so he can't help with it.

Any idea what in the Admin Tools htaccess could be causing this problem on mobiles?

Thanks,
Matt

Hello Matt,

let's be sure this is caused by Admin Tools.
Please disable the System - Admin Tools plugin and replace your current .htaccess to Joomla stock one.
In this way you are completely turning off Admin Tools, do you still have the same error?
