 Hi

I have an old site in the process of being re-developed but until that is finished the old site needs to continue.
earlier this week I suspected there were problems as Virtumart payment confirmation emails were not getting through the payment admin person.

I installed Admin tools 2.2.16 but the problems continued so I decided to roll back to a backup from 7 days previous.

After the backup was installed I updated Admintools to 2.2.a5 but still had same issues. This time, however, on the Admintools page it is telling me the Joomla Core is unknown and some features are not working like WAF and Database Prefix Editor.

I am getting a lot of email messages telling me IP's are getting blacklisted and there are a lot of attempted logins that are failing.

I really need to get WAF running again.

I hope I have been clear enough, but I am fairly inexperienced and every day I learn something new. Any help would be appreciated.

The error message is correct, the update system that old version used no longer exists. It can only be updated manually.

It looks like you've got an alpha version running on there, the last version for Joomla! 1.5 was Admin Tools 2.2.12 You can find that version here: https://www.akeebabackup.com/download/admin-tools/admintools-2-2-12.html.

I'm sure you've heard this before but I have to say it. The only way to secure Joomla! 1.5 is to unplug the server.

Thanks for the reply.

Is it a simple job to roll back to the previous version of AdminTools?

dlb
Yes it is. You don't have all that many choices so it is hard to get into trouble. As long as you're installing a 2.2 series version of Admin Tools, you just install the older version over it to downgrade. If you managed to install a 3.x or 4.x series of Admin Tools, then you would have to uninstall and reinstall, which we want to avoid. I don't think those newer series would install in your environment, but let's not try it.

Ok, I have got AdminTools at the correct version of 2.2.16 but when I go to AdminTools via the backend of the site the panel is showing as per the attached screenshot. The Master Password has no effect as the submit button is greyed out.

Is there a way to removed the Master Password?

Via FTP?

computerarts
Fixed master password issue but cannot get the WAF to open at all. It is the only part of Admin Tools I cannot access.

dlb
How did you fix the master password issue?

What happens when you try to open Admin Tools? What do you see?
