Our host just migrated our website (on a VPS) to a new VPS. We did this a few years ago and never experienced any issues. The site is running fine and very fast; however, the backend takes about 5 minutes to get logged in. I type in the secret URL parameter and login page pops right up - then after entering username and login, it takes forever to get in. Once in, it works as expected and logout works well too. Nothing pops up in the Security Exceptions Log unless I get ticked and cancel.
I've searched for a solution which led me to:
1. Change main.php to main.bak.php - RESULT: Could log in extremely fast like normal, zero issues. Switch back - slow login.
2. Changed the Admintools created .htaccess to the Joomla default .htaccess - RESULT (with Admintools running) same issue.
3. Uninstalled Admintools cleared all caches, browser caches, cloudflare, etc. - RESULT: Logged in like normal, very quick
4. Reinstalled Admintools, same slow, slow login.
I checked the configuration.php for live site '', caching, etc. all were correct. I cannot find a solution via search so I'm hoping you have some idea where else I may look.
Any ideas where I may check? Should I update to PHP 5.6? I saw one post during search where the user had the host reboot the server and it took care of it.
FYI, this was a site migration done by the hosting provider, not by using Akeeba Backup - this is the only issue I am experiencing.
Thank you!
