After I delete a record from the blacklist in the web application firewall I still receive email saying there is a security exception from the same IP I removed from the blacklist. please advise...do I need to delete something else?

If you remove an IP from the black-list, it is allowed to access the site again. When that happens, a user from that IP address may attempt to perform something suspicious, triggering the Web Application Firewall which, in turn, will email you about this security exception. What is the reason of the security exception mentioned in the email? That's what the user from that IP tried to do on your site.
