https://www.akeebabackup.com/support/admin-tools/Ticket/25914-do-you-support-mariadb.html

you indicated that the MariaDB engine might cause problems with Joomla. Has that advisory changed? What is your current recommendation on the InnoDB engine vs MariaDB?

Thanks,
Hank

Hello,

I strongly suggest you to use MariaDB but with MySQL equivalent engines (ie InnoDB).
MariaDB is full compatible with MySQL, but I'd avoid to use any MariaDB-specific engines, since they could not be supported by Joomla and Admin Tools.
