Hello,
I have been using AdminTools for a number of years now and have made good use of its htaccess maker feature.
This is a great product.
However, I am curious if the htaccess maker adds new features from time to time -- whether, for example, an htaccess file made with it now would be much improved over an htaccess file made with it 4 years ago?
If yes, if there are updates to the htaccess code generated, then how should I go about safely incorporating those updates into my htaccess (which AdminTools generated for me 4 years ago)?

Thank you,
Ari

Yes the code for .htaccess Maker can be updated from one release to another. Generally you can just regenerate the .htaccess file to incorporate the changes.

One exception would be the list of User Agents was updated some time back. The original list was pretty small, the newer list is greatly expanded. The new list is at https://www.akeebabackup.com/documentation/admin-tools/htaccess-maker.html, you could just copy and paste them into your .htaccess Maker to update them if you have the older list.

Thank you. I have just done that.
I have always had to remove Wget and pycurl from the list to get my cron jobs to work, though.

You are correct, those are useful!
