I haven't accessed my admin panel for several months. Today, I tried to access it and got the error, "Unable to connect to authentication service." I reset the password at the Joomla admin console to make sure it was still correct. I tried renaming .htaccess to get in, and it didn't help. I tried searching for similar problems and didn't find a solution. Can I get some help getting in?

That doesn't sound like an Admin Tools error message. It sounds like a two factor authentication error message. I can't help you with that except to say that it is probably a temporary error, try again.

It wasn't a two factor problem. I never activated the plugin or set it up. I finally just deleted the entire installation and reloaded it. It got me working for a day, and now I can't login on the front end, although I can login on the backend.

I agree that this is not an Admin Tools error, but is more likely a JomSocial error or a Joomla error.

I don't recognize it as a Joomla! error. By process of elimination only, I'd start with JomSocial. I'm sorry I can't be more help.
