Hi, guys.

While editing a Joomla article in our Joomlashack.com site, I bumped into the "Our security system detected something fishy about your activity" message today.

The first time it was displayed grayed out when I was still on the article edit screen within our Joomlashack.com back end. I clicked on the "Code" tab and instead of the HTML code, and the message appeared.

Then, after my few attempts to save the article, I was kicked out of the Joomla back end and taken to the joomlashack.com URL. There I saw the "Our security system detected something fishy about your activity" message. This time it was displayed clearly, without being grayed out.

I cleared cache of my Chrome browser, rebooted my broadband router but kept getting the "something fishy" error message.

Has never had such experience while working on our Joomlashack.com content.

I can visit or log into other sites without any issues.

Cheers,

Alex

That message is not something that ships with our software. If your problem is the display of the message that's up to you, guys. If you're asking me why you are seeing this, check the Security Exceptions Log (ask Steve if you don't know what that is).

If I were to go out on a limp here, your login session expired. You kept trying to do stuff in the backend despite that, triggering the Admin Query security exception. Eventually you did it enough times that you got your IP blocked. Then you kept visiting the site making sure that your IP address is basically perma-blocked. You need to ask the tech people managing the site to unblock your IP address.

Please remember that we are not your site's tech support. We don't have access to your site, we don't know why you get locked out. In fact, this is the information you should provide us. We are here to help solve high level technical issues that other people at the level of a site integrator with full access to the site could not resolve on their own. Whoever gave you access to our ticket system, that is the person you should ask to help you.

Thanks, Nicholas. Much appreciated.

>>> That message is not something that ships with our software.

Apology there. I was in good faith the message was indeed generated by Admin Tools.

All the best.

Let me clarify :) I did not say that it definitely does not come from Admin Tools. I am saying that you need to check the Admin Tools configuration first in case you have indeed configured this custom message in Admin Tools. If you do, then check the security exception logs etc.

If there is no such configured message and given the fact it's not a built-in message we would conclude it's coming from something different e.g. a security module on the web server or even a different security extension for Joomla.
