Hi,

I am not getting the update option in the backend of my Joomla sites for Admin Tools. I refresh the update link in the AT component, but the new version does not show.

There was a recent Joomla update. Is it possible the AT update will be delayed in the backend? Usually the updates show up in the Joomla extension updater, but this current AT update is not coming thru.

Lastly, I have AT on a few sites that are not live. I use them as site examples in my portfolio. Here is an example: http://72.249.48.122/~zsdzxpqk/ I do not have emails associated with these non live sites, but need to receive emails for logging and reporting. My personal email is not working though it is not working though it is not working when I test in Joomla config settings and test email there. Any thoughts or workarounds?

Thanks so much,
Mary

Mary,

Please clear the cache on the Update page, then Find Updates. Sometimes the cache for the updates gets stuck. If that doesn't work, you may have to clear the administrator cache in Joomla!. They unwisely cache the database queries when they search for updates. There really isn't anything that we can do about it, that is a Joomla! function that we can't control or bypass.

The Admin Tools emails are sent through the Joomla! mall function, so, once again, that is a problem at the Joomla! level. The Joomla! test email has to work to receive the emails from Admin Tools. I'm not sure what you mean that you don't have emails associated with the non-live sites.

Hi Dale,

Clearing update cache and checking for updates made the new update show. Thank you!!

Regarding the email question, what I meant when I said I do not have emails associated with the sites that are not live is that I do not have domain associated emails i.e. [email protected]. For the sites that are not live, I try to use my personal gmail, but apparently Joomla will not send emails to a gmail. I don't know any other way to get the login and reporting.

Have a great day....or evening!

Mary,

I don't think the email problem is Joomla!. I think it's your host. Some hosts are preventing websites from sending emails where the "from" address differs from the website url. You can check with your host to confirm. It is an attempt to reduce compromised sites from sending out spam.

You might be able to work around it by setting up the non-live sites in subdomains and setting up email addresses from there.

Yes I do suspect a host issue.

Thank you for all your help Dale.
