Hello!
Recently maybe 1 months I see strange users registration. They have strange email names and also their nik like CharlesSER, or MAckDRN or just any name but they exactly are not my website real users. I delete 10 of them during this month but they still appear every day 1 or 2 per day maybe.
Today I disabled user registration.
What can I do so this kind of users couldn't register. I had captcha before disabling user registration.
Also...maybe I 'm wrong, but several months ago when I had lots of this kind of users before purchasing Admin Tool Pro my site was hacked. I do not know is there any correletion.
What kind of settings do I need to stop this users?

Hello,

do you see a pattern in the email used?
Admin Tools has a feature to block specific email domains. That could help you to block spammers.
Which kind of captcha are you using? Sadly lately spammers really got clever in reading captcha images...

their email were from gmail, yandex even yahoo. com
Captcha was ordinary captcha with letters and digits.

Please start using Google Recaptcha.
It's very good and will rarely annoy your regular users, while killing almost every bot.

As I see I had Google ReCaptcha before disabling user registration.
Anyway that strange users could register to my site.
Can I have any additional security with Admin Tools?

You can try to enable the CSRF/Anti-spam form protection (CSRFShield) feature, you can read more about it here: https://www.akeebabackup.com/documentation/admin-tools/web-application-firewall.html#waf-configure-active-request-filtering
