Hey!

This ticket is the continuation of the ticket #31763 – How to de-activate the Admin Tools?.

Trying to deactivate the Admin Tools plugin leads to an error saying:

"An error has occurred."
403 "Access denied"

Please see also the attached screenshot.

("Access denied" when a SuperUser tries to de-activate a plugin?! :-/)

What's wrong?

Regards,
Vlad

I'm sorry, that's my fault. I always forget about that switch.

Go to Web Application Firewall, Configure WAF, on the first tab, set "Defend against plugin deactivation" to No. That will allow you to deactivate the plugin.

Hi, Dale!

Thanks for your help!

I've found and switched the "Defend agains plugin deactivation" off.
I renamed the .htaccess into .htaccess_admin_tools.
I renamed the htaccess.txt into .htaccess.
BUT under /administrator I couldn't find any .htaccess - file anymore (see also the attached screenshot) :-/

Any idea?

Thanks!

Vlad

Vlad,

The .htaccess file in the /administrator folder is for the Password Protect Administrator function. If you are not using that function, it would not be there.

That's a hidden file but it looks like you already have hidden file set to display.

Dale, it's ok now, thanks!

One more: I had the very same error when I tried to create a new user (a Publisher). I'd try again and if it occurs again, I'll post it as a new question.

Thanks again!

Until next time,
Vlad
