Hello,
Admintools is blocking administrator on Joomla sites newly updated to 3.9.18 and using the correct /index.php?xxxx url
Renaming main.php removes the block. Restoring it restores the block.
Everything worked ok before the update to 3.9.18
I welcome your advice.
Best regards,
Terry

Terry,

What happens when "it doesn't work"? I assume you are redirected to the home page.

That would indicate a problem with the Secret URL Parameter. That can be found in Web Application Firewall, Configure WAF, on the first tab. Please double check that against what you're using to log in.

It doesn't make any sense that this would occur on a Joomla! update.

Dale,

Thanks for your response.

It shows the login screen, then when I enter the username and password it just hangs rather than entering the admin site or redirecting to home page.

If at that point, while it is hanging, I rename main.php, it instantaneously opens the administrator site without any further input.

Addendum...
after 6 minutes of hanging, the administrator site has just opened.
Tested again, this time 7 minutes hanging before opening

dlb
Ah! It is trying to send you an email about a successful administrator login, right? It can't send the email so it appears to hang.

The problem is in the Joomla! mail setup in Global Configuration.

Some hosts are getting really picky about what email you send. For some of them, their security settings require that the email domain matches the domain name of the site.

Spot on.

I changed mailserver in same session as Joomla update and had not thought there could be a connection to login.

Many thanks!

dlb
