EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Your backup is stopping during th[e database dump. It stops in an unusual place, it has not actually started to dump the database records yet. The AJAX error message is generic and doesn't really tell us anything. Let's start by trying these two things, which are common causes of AJAX errors:list=1]
[*] Visit the Configuration page and click on Save. This may be necessary if you just upgraded. This simple move will refresh your configuration and pick up the default values for any new parameters which might have been introduced in the new release.
[*] Use the Configuration Wizard button in the Control Panel page to automatically adjust a series of configuration parameters to safer settings. The wizard performs benchmarking of your server to determine those values. It is not always 100% accurate, but the settings it creates are at the very least a good starting point for tweaking them manually. If it seems to get stuck for more than three minutes (180 seconds) the first time you run it, reload the page.

Hi there,

[*] Visit the Configuration page and click on Save. ALREADY DONE IT.
[*] Use the Configuration Wizard button: ALREADY DONE IT wizardy ends correctly

but no way, still getting error.

before updating, to last version, everythink was ok and backup was working fine

I have tried also to disinstall and reinstall the core but same error

i can give you an admin login if it can help you solving iussue.

Thanks

Luca

You may need to run the Configuration Wizard again. Depending on what order you did things in, when you reinstalled Backup, you got the default configuration, not what the wizard created based in its tests.

Please install Backup twice, back to back, without doing anything in between. This trick usually gets around a glitch in the Joomla! installer that may not have completely installed the component.

Hi

instead i made a myphp check and fix for all tables, (maybe one were corrupted)

after this backup is still working.

i think this was the problem and maybe my info can you help on similar iussse/errors.

thanks for your help

btw i ask you another question:

on my domain i have 2 subdomain with 2 different joomla installations, their files are under the principal domain web root, so during backup those files are processed as well.

how to back up the databases of the 2 joomla subdomain during the main backup ?

Luca

dlb
That makes sense. It just isn't something that comes to mind early in the process of diagnosing the problem. Thank you for the feedback.

If both sites are using the same database, then both sites' tables will be included in the backup unless you exclude the first site's tables from the second site's backup, and vice versa.

If they are using different databases, you would need to define the second site's database as an external database in the first site's backup, under Configuration.

Note that it is very easy to back up two sites in the same backup, but it is very difficult to restore, especially if you only want to restore one of the sites.

thanks for your hints,

maybe can i define different profiles, and inside each just add the second site's database as an external database ?

regards

Luca

dlb
Your license allows you to install Akeeba Backup on both sites. You can then do backups of each site, setting each up to exclude the tables of the other. This method is more work to do the backup, but it makes the restore easier.

You could do it with different profiles as well, but I think that is the hard way.
