EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:

Can't backup. I have the site loaded on my own machine running MAMP. I'm in the process of updating a site from 2.5 to 3.4. The site started at 2.5.7 until I upped it to 2.5.28. Then I did a backup and then got the following error in the log:

Cannot get the structure of table #__ak_acl. Database returned error Table 'XXX.j25_ak_acl' doesn't exist SQL=SHOW CREATE TABLE `j25_ak_acl` running SHOW CREATE TABLE `#__ak_acl` Please check your database privileges. Your database backup may be incomplete.

And then this:

Failed Smart algorithm on Akeeba\Engine\Core\Domain\Db

I use Akeeba all the time and I rarely if ever see this problem. Thanks for the help.

It seems that your database is broken. One of the tables is reported by MySQL as being there, despite the table having been removed. One easy way around this –if this is the only affected table– is as follows:

Go to Akeeba Backup.
Click on Database Table Exclusion.
Click on the Summary View tab towards the top of the page.
Next to "Add new filter" click on the Exclude This button.
In the field that pops up enter #__ak_acl and click on the pencil icon to its left.
Retry backing up.

The already removed –but erroneously reported as being present– table won't be included in the backup.
