EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:
Failed update to Akeeba backup (f0f specifically) left me unable to access backend of Joomla site (500 http error, blank white page, error page stating file not found in included.php).

Can you post an update on how to manually remove Akeeba backup. I followed the instructions I found in troubleshooter article 13408, but ran into different directory naming when I got to the /system/ files to delete.

I deleted everything up to that point, and then renamed the include.php file which let me get into the back end, then I reinstalled the latest version of Akeeba backup. Now site if functional and I have a current backup.

Thanks for a great product, I just stumble around a bit when an update fails.

This can only happen if Joomla! screws up while copying files. Very rare but crap does happen. You can fix that manually.

First download the Akeeba Backup installation archive.

Extract it locally on your computer.

Copy the contents of the extracted fof (f-oh-f) folder into your site's libraries/f0f (f-ZERO-f) folder.

IMPORTANT: There's another directory libraries/fof (f-OH-f) in your site. Do NOT touch it and do NOT put any files into it. It's part of Joomla! itself.
