EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:

I have had no problems extracting or restoring a site until a few days ago on Mamp. The kickstart.php is not loading correctly (see attached), language strings showing etc, and so there must be a setting for the server being missed? Never had this before and cannot find what the issue is.

I tried all different php versions in Mamp to no avail. Do you know what would cause this? Could not find anyone else who might have had this issue in your forums.

What you're seeing are raw language strings. These strings are translated into the language of the user with the ini files in the Kickstart archive. Under most circumstances you don't need the English ini file, but it seems that you do in this case.

Kickstart should function fine without the language, it is strictly a display issue.

Hello,

Thanks for the reply... the problem is that none of the buttons work as well. So if I try to click the start button nothing happens... and no error is shown.

So it is not just the ini language file.

dlb
I should have known that. :-(

Along with the en-GB.kickstart.ini file, you also need jquery.min.js and json2.nin.js. Your local server either doesn't have an outbound internet connection or it can't get to the location those online libraries are stored. The files are in the Kickstart archive for just such a situation.

Ah yes... okay, so I thought I had loaded sites while not being online before, but maybe no.. and see that this was the issue... just was not online.

Easy fixes are very nice!

I like easy ones! Have a good weekend.
