I Use Akeeba Back up daily & use it to move sites from my localserver to siteground or siteground to siteground several times a week too. So I don't consider myself a novice :)

Description of my issue:
Trying to move a site from 1 siteground account to another using akeeba backup & kickstart.

I get to the very last step of kickstart & then see a new screen saying

Finalising restoration

Updating .htaccess

But noting happens?

The only thing different from all other times I do this exact same thing is that the backed up site is using Akeeba Backup 5.0.4 - first time I used this version.

I just deleted everything from the new siteground server.
Created a new backup at the current siteground server.
Tried again using Kickstart 4.2.0 pro & get the same issues, but this time I noticed that on one of the first kickstart screens, where the comparision between the backup & new server are done.
It says it is a Wordpress 3.5.1 site? SEE SCREENHOT

It certainly has never been & never will be a wordpress site, so not sure what going wrong here. I think I will try with an older version of akeeba backup

I then went back to my original site, deleted akeeba backup 5.0.4 pro version & installed an older version I had saved 4.5.5 Pro
I backed up with this, moved the site to siteground using Kickstart in the exact same way and works works brilliantly, so I guess there is bug in 5.0.4 somewhere.
It also had no reference to WordPress in it at the comparison stage.

Need to go and wash my mouth out now, thats 2 times I mentioned WordPress - Shit! now thats 3

Hello Andy,

I just run some tests and it seems that backup restoration is broken due to a packaging issue.
However you can still restore your backups, you have to manually delete the files installation/platform/steps.php and installation/platform/iniprocess.php
That should do the trick, a new version is expected to be released soon.
