Description of my issue:
Hi, I have used both Akeeba Backup and Admin Tools for a while but find Admin Tools a bit tricky to use as it often gives me problems to login at the sites and in thi scase it locks me out from doing things a superadmin in the backend.
So I uninstalled AdminTools and then tried to make an Akeeba backup but got the "Error: 403 - you don't have credentials to see this resource."
So I uninstalled also akeeba and then reinstalled it and went to the Components/Akeeba backup and of course got the Configuration Wizard so I press the button to run it but get the same error message.... sigh..
It seems like a dead end.
Everytime this happens I see m to go down as only some kind of lower user with only restricted backend accessm not as superadmin any more. so what is going on is for me a mystery.
Is this Akeeba related?
If so is there any way to get back and reinstall akeeba backup and also admintools as I want a secure site.
Looking forward to your reply.

All the best
Micke

Akeeba Backup by default requires you to be a Super User to have access to its features. This is a sane security precaution: everyone with access to Akeeba Backup can download your entire site. Moreover, someone with configuration access to Akeeba Backup can see your login credentials to remote storage services, like Amazon S3 and Dropbox.

If you want to override the security precautions log in as a Super User, go to Components, Akeeba Backup and click the Options button. Then go to the Permissions tab and assign the permissions you want to the user groups you want. This is the standard Joomla way for assigning access rights to components.

Regarding Admin Tools, please do take the time to read its documentation and watch the video tutorials too. Security is NOT something you install, it's a process i.e. something you need to maintain on your site. Admin Tools is merely a tool to help you secure your site. On top of reading Admin Tools' documentation I also recommend watching my Keeping your site safe presentation from Joomla! Day UK 2016. It's a good overview of what site security is and what to do to maintain it.
