Description of my issue:

I'm using Akeeba Backup quite a while without any problems.

But the latest Version 5.2.2 doesn't work at all on my Server. There haven't been any changes on the server.

What's the difference?

We have found that PHP versions 5.6.0 through 5.6.5 are badly broken. It was pure chance that previous versions of Akeeba Backup did not have the same error. We have published a Developer's Release with a work around for the problem. Please install that and try your backup again. It is available here: https://www.akeebabackup.com/download/developer-releases/akeebapro.html. The top item is the latest release.
