Hope you can help me to find out what goes wrong with my backups.
I use Watchful to make weekly or monthly automatic back-ups with Akeeba professional that land in my Dropbox. This goes well, but unfortunately, many times, the backups which have been processed successfully to Dropbox are not removed from the server by Akeeba, even though I do have the option "Delete archive after processing" enabled on all of my sites (close to 100 sites in Watchful currently).
If this happens a few times, the web space is full which causes backup errors and even clients receiving no mail any longer. It also stops the automatic backup process which is unsafe.
I already have this discussed this with the Watchful people but they indicate that this has nothing to do with their service.
Hope you can help me out to solve this issue since it is costing my hours of time each week.

Not deleting the backup archive on the local server is normal when Akeeba Backup thinks the archive was not completely uploaded to Dropbox. So either we have a partial upload, or Akeeba thinks we do. We need a backup log for a backup where the archive was not deleted on the local server. That will tell us why it did not delete.

Tried to look for an example but I just cleaned up and added the sites to the backup queue of Watchful again. I did add quotas this time in the Akeeba configuration so hopefully that will also help to lower the web space that is needed.

dlb
The quotas would not apply to a failed upload. So your quota will only work for the files on Dropbox. If you find one that does not delete properly, please post the log file. If this ticket auto closes, you can just open a new one. It never misbehaves when tech support is watching, right?

That's good to know, I will keep a good look at the sites and will post a log file if archives are not deleted. Thank you!
