EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:

I have run a backup on a new install of Akeeba and it detected and error. I followed the instructions of running ALICE but it just sits there doing nothing. I have not clicked on anything as instructed... what to do?

dlb
ALICE is a great tool, it looks through thousands and thousands of lines in the log file to search for possible problems. But the log file is the real thing. Please zip and post your log and we'll see if we can beat your backup into submission.

Thanks Dale,
Here you go but it's not showing anything.
Selecting "Analyse Log" does nothing, so i selected to download the file and as you can see it didn't register anything.

I see why ALICE had a problem. Let's go to Configuration, near the top, please set the Log level to "All information and debug." Then do a new backup and the log will be much larger.

OK, now we've got all kinds of logs going on! But what's weird is that when I went to config as requested, it was already set to "all information and debug"

dlb
This one is Profile #1, is it possible the first one was from another profile? This is what I was looking for, the first one looks like an "Errors only" setting. That or the backup died instantly and without recording an error.

This one is much easier! You have some backup archives in /mmp_upgrade/administrator/components/com_akeeba/backup/ that are being included in the backup. Is /mmp_upgrade a folder that should be included in the backup? It looks like maybe it is another site.

No, I forgot that folder was in there as its from a migrate from J2.5 to J3. I'll pull that out and try again.... stay tuned..

blackfrog
That was the problem! I deleted the migration folder and all went without a hitch. Thanks again for your help.

You're welcome! Have a good weekend.
