Description of my issue:
Nicholas,

I ran into the same problem on two different servers, one a test server and the other the live site server. They are located a continent apart.

The scenario was the same, I upgraded from 3.4.3 to 3.5.0 via the Akeeba Backup control panel and when doing so got a blank screen (a PHP error). Doing a refresh returned the successful update screen. The Apache error log file contained the following error:

[Sun May 20 23:01:54 2012] [error] [client XX.XXX.XXX.XXX] PHP Fatal error: Call to a member function select() on a non-object in /somedir/anotherdir/htmldir/joomla/administrator/components/com_akeeba/akeeba/utils/comconfig.php on line 23, referer: http://www.adomainname.org/administrator/index.php?option=com_akeeba&view=liveupdate&force=1

Everything appears to be functioning correctly. Backups work as expected after the upgrade although I admit I haven't done a restore from the 3.5.0 backup as yet.

This is more informational than in need of assistance. Unless of course something which isn't apparent is broken and requires fixing.

Regards,

Wes

This seems related to a bugfix I did a couple of days ago. I can no longer replicate this issue with my dev code. So the fix will make it into the next release :)
