EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue: My website was just compromised due to a php injection attack. As of right now I have no way of getting to my front end or back end of my website due to my host quarantining multiple Joomla files that I've tried restoring to no avail. I was wondering if anyone could recommend the best way to get my website back up and running? I have an Akeeba Pro backup that I have access to but I wanted to make sure I went about this the best way

Any suggestions?

First, make sure you have your backup in safe place(s). Paranoia is your friend.

Paranoia is my friend too. Do a test extract on your backup archive on your local computer using the eXtract Wizard on our downloads page. We just want to make sure it will extract properly.

Since you already know you have a problem, burn it all. Delete all the files (see step 1 regarding backup above), drop the database, change your FTP and console passwords.

Create a new database and user (with a new password).

Put your backup archive and Kickstart Core in the root of your site and call Kickstart with www.mysite.com/kickstart.php. You don't need the features of Kickstart Pro for this job, it will just get in the way.

When the restore is done, do the Dance of Joy.
