Please look at the bottom of this page (under Support Policy Summary) for our support policy summary, containing important information regarding our working hours and our support policy. Thank you!

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue: I just upgraded my Akeeba Backup install to 5.5.0 and now any time I try to access anything in my admin, it shows: An error has occurred. 0 Call to a member function addStyleDeclaration() on null

I can't access anything in the admin... I searched my site using FTP trying to find my Akeeba log file but I'm not sure where it is.

Thanks for your help!

This is probably a partial install.
  • Download a copy of one of our components, e.g. Akeeba Backup.
  • Extract it.
  • Find the lib_fof30.zip file.
  • Extract it.
  • Rename the extracted folder fof to fof30.
  • Upload the fof30 folder into your site's libraries folder so now you have a libraries/fof30 folder.

This issue seems to spring from a third party extension messing up Joomla's core APIs for inserting CSS to the page. The necessary steps to work around this issue are described in our news article on the matter.

In short, you will be removing the folder of the plugin which tries to make use of the (now broken) Joomla! core API and install an update to Akeeba Backup which has a workaround for this issue.

If you are interested in the details of this issue you can read the technical analysis in our news article. That's not a required read; we just include it to satisfy the curiosity of our clients and users of our software.
