Please look at the bottom of this page (under Support Policy Summary) for our support policy summary, containing important information regarding our working hours and our support policy. Thank you!

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:

I tried to install Akeeba backup to a new site and after that I get back end:
0 Call to undefined method FOF30\Platform\Joomla\Platform::getSessionVar()

Front end: http://whm28.louhi.net/~lyomaton/index.php/fi/

Then I tried to copy files in fof folder as advised here:
https://www.akeebabackup.com/support/admin-tools/Ticket/27808-error-after-joomla-3-7-1-update.html

But that did not help. What should I do now?
Thanks for your help.

Kind regards,
Piia

Akeeba Backup 5.2.5 is a couple of years out of date and most definitely NOT compatible with Joomla! 3.7 and PHP 7.0. Moreover, installing such an old version on a site that has a modern version of Admin Tools would break the site. Please install Akeeba Backup 5.5.2 instead.

If this did not help:

  • Go to our Download page
  • Scroll much further down the page, to FOF downloads
  • Click on the download button underneath FOF. It donwloads a ZIP file named something like lib_fof30-3.1.2.zip.
  • Extract the ZIP file on your computer
  • Copy all the files from the fof folder into your site's libraries/fof30 folder. WARNING! DO NOT copy the files into your site's fof folder.

The instructions are similar to what you followed but, crucially, they use the latest version of FOF 3 instead of the one shipped with your outdated version of Akeeba Backup.
