Please look at the bottom of this page (under Support Policy Summary) for our support policy summary, containing important information regarding our working hours and our support policy. Thank you!

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:

I have recently updated both Joomla and Akeeba, and now I am unable to make any backups - I used to have them automated, but now I cannot carry out automated or manual backups. I also cannot run the configuration wizard.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the plugin, but to no avail

Attached is the info from the console in Google Chrome when accessing the configuration wizard.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Chris

Chris,

The backup stops just as it should be installing the restore software into the backup archive. My first thought was that you had a partial installation, but your uninstall/reinstall should have fixed that.

Can you please download Akeeba Backup from our Download page again and reinstall twice, back to back, without doing anything in between. Since your reinstall didn't fix it, I'm wondering if you have a bad download. That would be rare, but not impossible.

Hi Dale - thanks for getting back to me.

I tried as you suggested, but no difference I'm afraid.

Just to mention, I had to make a partial update of Joomla - from 3.6.5 to 3.8.1, as some files conflict with bespoke software within the site. Are there specific files within the following folders which might have been updated and needed by Akeeba:

administrator -> templates
media -> system
media -> media
templates

Just prior to the update of Joomla and Akeeba, there was a 500 error appearing when trying to access Akeeba via the backend.

Now I can access the plugin ok, but as per my previous post, the plugin is no longer working.

I hope this sheds a bit more light on the issue?!

Thanks,
Chris

Chris,

Let's try to adjust your timing settings and make the minimum execution time to 2 seconds. You can find those settings in Configuration.

Hi Dale - I'm afraid the minimum is already set to 2 seconds.

Thanks for your help so far - hopefully we can get to the bottom of this!

Well, that's a clue because it isn't using 2 seconds in the log you posted. Can you please post a new log so we can make sure that is still the problem?
