Please look at the bottom of this page (under Support Policy Summary) for our support policy summary, containing important information regarding our working hours and our support policy. Thank you!

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:
not sure what happened .. I did a successful Akeeba backup on the 31st and was just doing a php file scan and got the first error that the filecache table is missing.
I can indeed not see it in my database and installed the latest version of admin tools to see if that changes something ..
before that I tried another backup which didn't work for the same reason.

installed the 6.0.0b1 for Akeeba backup as well but still nothing ..

I am attaching the error log

please advise ..

Please contact your host. One or more of the database tables are corrupt. Your or us cannot do much in this case. Fixing this issue requires root (i.e. system administrator) privileges which only your host has.

Please note that MySQL table corruption can and does happen randomly, especially when the server is operating under a high load or when the disk starts developing defects. It's also much more likely it happens on tables where data is recycled (written and deleted) a lot, such as the sessions table or Admin Tools'PHP File Change Scanner file cache (the latter is what got corrupted on your site). This is part of the reason we are taking regular backups of our sites :) If all else fails you can restore the latest backup after creating a new database for your site, since the old database has a corrupt table, then delete the old database.

It's actually a dedicated server.
I just repaired all tables in the database ..

Is there a way to just restore the filecache table from the old backup??

Or can I uninstall Admintools and install it again and it'll fix the issue?

Remember, the problem is with the database server. Uninstalling Admin Tools will NOT fix the database server. It will only lose all of your Admin Tools settings. You will make things worse, not better.

You can simply (try to) drop the table, then visit Components, Admin Tools again. It will detect the table is missing and create it afresh. The only thing you miss is the PHP File Change Scanner status regarding files. Which means that you just need to run it again and mark all files as safe.

The problem is dropping the table. The reason I told you that you might need root access is that most of the times I had this issue I was not able to repair or drop the table. MySQL insisted the table isn't there. I had to drop the table by deleting its information from the MySQL schema (DANGEROUS! That's why it requires root access.), stop the MySQL server, remove the table files from MySQL's data directory (assuming it's a MyISAM table, no idea what to do for an InnoDB table) and then create it afresh. What was much easier for me to do was to either restore a backup or -on dev servers where backups are not a given- export the entire database minus that table with phpMyAdmin, create a new database, restore it there and edit Joomla's configuration.php to point it to the new database.
