Please look at the bottom of this page (under Support Policy Summary) for our support policy summary, containing important information regarding our working hours and our support policy. Thank you!

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:
Hello guys,
I tried to update my Joomla to 3.8 but the backup process stops at 74% and I then get this error as per screenshot...
I did a manual backup just a few minutes before that which was successful, I will try to retrieve it via FTP.
The update process automatically ran Akeeba again and relaunched another backup but as you can see it didn't go well.. The site is still live but I no longer have access to the admin interface.

I updated to Akeeba 6.0 today and added SSL encryption to the site yesterday along with a rewrite rule to force the https adress to be used.

I might add that I tried to update to Joomla 3.8 several times in the past months but it always failed at the 74% stage without consequence to the access to the admin panel.

I temporarily regained access to the admin log-in panel, upon entering my login details the URL becomes https://www.berigaudvehiculesanciens.fr/administrator/index.php.
I don't recall having that index.php file in the past...

I am using the Core Version, cannot see the backup folder in my com_akeeba folder... the only folders I have are Controller, Dispatcher and Model...

You can disable that backup before update with the BoU button in the lower right corner of your screen. You can disable it permanently by disabling the System - Backup on update plugin. As long as you have a backup, it doesn't matter if it is manual or not.

The backup error doesn't make sense, it is a database error. If it backs up manually, there is no reason you should get that error on the automatic backup. And 74$ is usually in the files compression section, we shouldn't be getting a database error.

The index.php is always there. You don't usually have to explicitly type it in the URL but you have to go to an executable address, so PHP assumes index.php. Sometimes when you first install a local website stack, it still assumes index.html, which causes problems.

The default folder is /administrator/components/com_akeeba/backup but that can be changed in the backup Configuration screen in the Output Folder field.
