Description of my issue:

Hello,
I just bought the Pro version of Akeeba and Admintools because I find your components really excellent.
But less problem:
- My database contains more than ten Joomla website
- I would like to save that the database of my site www.test.fr for example
- I have to select the tables that do not correspond to my site with the option "Exclude tables and / or data"
- I take more than three hours to exclude databases that do not correspond to my site www.test.fr

My question: Do you know a faster method to exclude my tables?

Thanks for your feedback
Good luck

cordially

Yes, of course I do :) There are two ways, I will give you the one that's fastest and which requires no maintenance in the future. Actually, your use case is exactly what the RegEx Database Tables Exclusion feature was made for. The answer to your question is already documented. But let me present it in an easier, step by step fashion:
  • Go to Akeeba Backup.
  • Activate the backup profile you're interested in.
  • Click on the RegEx Database Tables Exclusion button.
  • Click on New (the Plus button at the bottom of the list).
  • In the first drop-down select Exclude a table.
  • In the text box to the right of the drop down enter the text !/^#__/
  • Click on the disk icon (Save).

The filter definition you created tells Akeeba Backup to exclude all tables whose name does not start with the configured database table name prefix, as defined in your site's Global Configuration. Therefore it excludes the tables of the other nine sites and includes the tables of your site only.
