Please, could you explain me why Akeeba is trying to access under my site root as i didn't configure any special directory or file?

Here's the message that appears twice per log for all my sites:

in Step number 8
WARNING |180524 11:49:49|Link <root>/.. is inaccessible. Check the open_basedir restrictions in your server's PHP configuration
and just before Finished operation 3
WARNING |180524 11:49:49|Link <root>/.. is inaccessible. Check the open_basedir restrictions in your server's PHP configuration

All works fine but these messages are disturbing.

Thanks

Hello,

you can safely ignore that.
It means that the root parent is not directly accessible while scanning, that's not a big deal.
That's why we issue only a warning and not an error.

Thank you for your answer, but the problem is that when I receive an email or push notification after the backup, it contains warnings and I have no way of knowing that it's just due to that and so I have to log in at each site to check the log. I lose all the benefit of these features. So, please, is there a way to disable these messages?

Best regards

I'm afraid it's not possible.
Akeeba is scanning your directory and it founds a link that it can't follow. In this case we know that's harmless and we can ignore it, in other cases you could have broken links or configuration setups that you may want to investigate further.
