I am using Akeeba Backup for a long time without any problems.
But since almost a month I have 0 kb files uploaded by FTP to my Synology NAS.
The backup file itself is still in the backup folder at the hostingserver.

I think the backup file size is not to big.
It is 42MB now.

Strange thing is that I am running websites at different hostingservers at different hosting companies.
For some sites the backup is send by FTP perfect and at other sites it is only the 0 kb file which is send by FTP.

The configuartion in Akeeba Backup is the same for every website.

I hope someone of support can check the log file and tell me what I can do to solve this issue.
Best regards,
Wouter (WoodyF4u)

Akeeba Staff
Hello,

this usually means that the data connection of your FTP transfer is blocked (remember an FTP transfer is made of 2 connections: one to send the commands to execute and another one to actually transfer files).
You can try to work around the block by changing the state of the Use passive mode option, inside the Post-processing engine section in the Configuration page.

Hi David,
Thanks for your explanation about the way FTP works.
I have changed the parameter to passive mode and that works a lot better.
Best regards,
