Please look at the bottom of this page (under Support Policy Summary) for our support policy summary, containing important information regarding our working hours and our support policy. Thank you!

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue: I believe that after changing the configuration.php file from

public $live_site = ''; to public $live_site = 'https://cablecenter.org'; in order to remove the error message that some items are not secure Akeeba no longer reads the directories or backs up. When I go to Files and Directories Exclusion section no folders or files are listed.

It will not show log files either. I assume that using this approach won't work for HTTPS using Akeeba?

I removed the https address from Live_site in the config file and it works again.

Still, would a reinstall after https nake Akeeba work again or do I do something different?

Hello,

if you want to force SSL on your site, that's not the correct way to do that.
You have to get inside your Joomla Global Configuration and set the option Force SSL to Entire Site. That's the correct way to do that and Akeeba Backup will work correctly.

Thanks. My god, it is so hard to find information about how to do this. Thanks for letting me know I was doing it wrong.
