Hello
When I try to update either admin tools or backup, errors are introduced.
The only way I can remove is to back out of the program and that cost me each time.

the Backup errors that appear on most admin and public pages are;

arning: include_once(/home/smorgasb/public_html/libraries/fof30/Date/Date.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/smorgasb/public_html/plugins/system/admintools/admintools.php on line 88

Warning: include_once(): Failed opening '/home/smorgasb/public_html/libraries/fof30/Date/Date.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/local/php71/pear') in /home/smorgasb/public_html/plugins/system/admintools/admintools.php on line 88

I don't want to reload Admin to give you the errors as a similar thing happens

When I upfrage, I am told to load Framework-on-Framework (FOF) 3.x - The rapid application development framework for Joomla!.
WARNING: This is NOT a duplicate of the FOF library already installed with Joomla!. It is a different version used by other extensions on your site. Do NOT uninstall either FOF package. If you do you will break your site.

This fixes the error in backup but it comes back when I try to upgrade Backup

It looks like Joomla! failed to install all of the necessary files. This happens to very few people updating from earlier versions. It's due to a bug in Joomla!.

There is a workaround. Download the latest version of FOF and install it on your site twice in a row, without uninstalling it before or in between.

If the problem persists ask your host what is the best way to clear any PHP opcode cache which may be present on your site, as well as any caching proxy server in front of your site.

Thank you for your speedy response.
In case the following can help, if have;
  • cleared the opcode cache
    loaded the FOF several times. One time it loads without error. the second time it loads with errors below.
    still unable to load Admin Tools or Backup without an error condition

Errors after load

This file is part of the FOF package you installed on your site. The fact that it loaded once without error and then started complaining again that there is an error makes me think that the file is installed but then your host deletes it. This is not a new situation. Bad hosts have been doing this kind of silent deletions for around 5 years now. Please contact your host and ask them to NOT delete that file automatically because a. it's an innocent file, not a threat and b. by silently deleting it without asking you they are breaking your site and it's entirely their fault, not the developer's (since us, the developers, do ship and install the necessary file with our software).
